Elliot give green light for striker signing
AC Milan plan to sign a new striker and Elliot has given the approval for Genoa star Gianluca Scamacca.
AC Milan are looking to sign a back-up for Zlatan Ibrahimovic. According to SportMediaset, Rossoneri owners Elliott have given Maldini the green light to buy a new striker and Gianluca Scamacca is the favorite name to join AC Milan for a number of reasons.
Players of a certain level like Mandzukic are out of reach because of their age and salary. Napoli striker Arek Milik is also complicated because the Partenopei are asking a high fee despite the Pole becoming a free agent at the end of this season. Papu Gomez is a target but for the attacking midfielder role.
That’s why all reads lead to Gianluca Scamacca. The 21-year-old Sassuolo is currently on loan at Genoa. The Italian is one of the few positive aspects in this disappointing start of the season for Genoa.
Sportmediaset reports that AC Milan and Genoa are discussing a swap between Scamacca and Lorenzo Colombo on loan. It could also be a good solution for the former Primavera who has found little space so far at Milan while at Genoa he would have more chances to play. In that case the current agreement Genoa have with Sassuolo would pass to Milan.
Genoa signed Scamacca on loan and have the option to make the transfer permanent for 20 million. In 11 appearances so far Gianluca Scamacca has scored 6 goals and assisted one.
